About this Opportunity
We seek in-person and remote volunteer tutors, mentors and role models! Tutoring Chicago is the largest one-to-one after school tutoring program offering consistent long-term pairings of students and volunteers in the Chicagoland area. At Tutoring Chicago, weekly one-to-one tutoring with a consistent and trusted adult is entirely free of charge. Tutors support students in grades 1st-12th through in-person or digital tutoring options from late September to late May. Tutors are accepted on a rolling basis and can join at various points throughout the program year. Tutoring Chicago delivers the power of education through one-to-one tutoring and we believe that through one-to-one relationships with supportive tutors, students facing economic barriers can access brighter futures. Our mission, programs and delivery are centered in these values. No special skills or prior experience is necessary. Tutors are methodically matched one-to-one with a student to work with and support their academic goals and progression within 1 of our 4 programs by way of in-person or virtual sessions. Tutors have the opportunity to select the program, grade level, tutoring site, evening and method. Tutors are given the tools, training, resources, materials and support to guide their sessions. All tutors deliver the power of education and have the opportunity to impact, inspire and empower.
